Reality TV rom-com • enemies-to-lovers banter • forced proximity • fake dating/showmance
A sunny, chaotic rom-com where the person who produces the romance is forced to star in it. A Shore Thing drops two bickering co-workers onto a Caribbean island, throws in a tropical storm and a reality show meltdown, and dares them to fake a relationship on camera—only for the sparks to start feeling a little too real off-screen.
The vibe
Cleo is a casting producer for the hit reality show Welcome to Singledom. She knows how to make romance happen—on cue, on schedule, and with just the right amount of drama. Controlled. Professional. Easy.
Then there’s Lockie, her infuriatingly charming co-casting producer. They can’t agree on anything… except that the other one is a problem. Unfortunately, they’re stuck working together in close quarters on a Caribbean island with cameras everywhere. And when a tropical storm delays half the cast on launch night, the show is seconds from disaster—until someone suggests the most unhinged solution possible: Cleo and Lockie step in as contestants. Just for 24 hours. Just long enough to couple up, get voted off, and go back behind the scenes.
Except forced proximity + island pressure + nonstop cameras turns their bickering into chemistry that looks very convincing… and feels even more real when the cameras stop rolling.
