A small-town with a secret to tell.

The small town of Fiasco Kentucky is aptly named because of all the secrets and under-the-table deals happening just below its quaint, southern surface. The FMC Faye Calloway was born and raised there, but she wanted to leave Fiasco permanently in her rear-view mirror along with a bloody secret of her own. The MMC Lincoln Foxx is a super sexy, super sweet single dad as well as one of three brothers that co-own the Foxx bourbon distillery that is Fiasco Kentucky's main draw. It turns out that these two have a history of their own that is revealed over the course of their reunion when Faye's private investigating job brings her back to her hometown. As someone who typically doesn't read contemporary romance, the suspense elements kept me hooked. I like that this book gets more into the seedy underbelly of Fiasco in a way that was just hinted at in the first book. This is an enemies-to-lovers romance, but not a slow-burn. I would rate this 3.5/5 stars on the spicy scale, all of the scenes are written really well. This series can be read as stand-alones because each one is centered around a different Foxx brother, but if you want the full picture of Fiasco Kentucky, I would recommend reading all three.
