On an island where the dead once walked among the living, seven noble houses ruled through the ancient secrets of necromancy. Now, their magic has been extinguished by conquest, their libraries burned, and their families scattered. Only the House of Teeth remains defiant.

Lady Agnes has not spoken a word in seven years, but silence has never made her powerless. As the last true bearer of her family's legacy, she is charged with recovering the secrets of death magic and restoring her fallen house. Her mission requires arranging the betrothal of her beloved cousin, Marozia, to Liuprand, the golden heir of the conquering dynasty, giving Agnes access to the forbidden library hidden within his grotesquely magnificent castle.

But revenge becomes complicated when Agnes finds herself drawn to Liuprand. Their attraction is dangerous, treasonous, and impossible to ignore, threatening to unravel the fragile kingdom around them. Agnes knows her duty. She knows what her family expects of her. And above all, she knows the one thing she must never do: fall in love.

The Vibe

Agnes is mysterious, fiercely loyal, and shaped by the burden of carrying her family's legacy. Her silence only makes her more enigmatic as she navigates a world of political maneuvering, forbidden magic, family duty, and desires she has been ordered to deny.

Liuprand is the golden prince and heir to the throne that conquered Agnes's family. He is caught between the expectations of his position and the powerful connection he develops with the woman who should be his enemy.

The result is a lush, unsettling gothic romance steeped in necromancy, ancient magic, grotesque beauty, political intrigue, and doomed desire. With its decaying castles, forbidden libraries, resurrected secrets, and morally tangled characters, Innamorata is ideal for readers who want their romantasy dark, atmospheric, lyrical, and hauntingly romantic.
