Powerful (Special Edition): A Powerless Story, by Lauren Roberts

forbidden romance • enemies to lovers • mysterious Elite • novella • dystopian fantasy

While Paedyn is fighting for her life in the Purging Trials, Adena is left behind in the slums of Loot with only herself to rely on. Her best friend and lifelong protector gone, Adena must learn to survive on her own, even if that means risking everything to steal what she needs.

When a mysterious stranger rescues her from a dangerous situation, Adena discovers that Mak is unlike anyone she has encountered before. His shadowy past and secret Elite power make him dangerous, but there is something about him that draws her in. As they join forces to reach the people they love before the Trials begin, survival quickly becomes complicated by trust, loyalty, and an attraction neither of them expected.

Set during the events of Powerless, Powerful gives beloved side character Adena her own story while expanding the world of Elites and Ordinaries. With danger around every corner and the Purging Trials looming, this emotional novella is a must-read for fans who want more of Loot, more of the Powerless world, and a romance all its own.
