[PRE-ORDER] To Cage a Wild Bird (Divided Fates, #1) by Brooke Fast

Release Date: 12/29/2026

dystopian romance • forced proximity • bounty hunter heroine • prison romance • forbidden attraction • found family

In Dividium, the law is brutally simple: break it, and you spend the rest of your life in Endlock, a prison where the wealthy hunt inmates for sport. Raven Thorne knows that world better than most. As the city's notorious bounty hunter, she has made a living delivering criminals to the very place she now finds herself trapped.

When Raven risks everything to save her younger brother, she becomes an inmate herself. Surrounded by danger and fighting to survive, she never expects the one person who could complicate her plans most to be the prison guard who awakens an attraction she cannot afford.

The Vibe

Fast-paced, atmospheric, and intensely romantic, To Cage a Wild Bird combines the danger of a dystopian prison with the emotional pull of forbidden attraction. Raven is a fiercely capable heroine whose determination to protect the people she loves puts her directly in the path of an unforgiving system.

Endlock is a brutal setting where survival is never guaranteed and trust can be as dangerous as any weapon. Raven must rely on her instincts, strength, and unexpected alliances as she searches for a way through a world designed to keep its prisoners powerless.

At the center of the story is a romance built around forced proximity and conflicting loyalties. The result is a gripping blend of dystopian suspense, action, emotional tension, and romance for readers who enjoy high-stakes worlds and heroines who refuse to surrender.
