Sweet Obsession: A Scorchingly Hot Modern Retelling of Poseidon and Icarus (Dark Olympus, #8), by Katee Robert

enemies to lovers • captive romance • forced proximity • Greek mythology retelling • MM romance

Icarus never expected his fall to land him in the hands of Olympus's Poseidon. As a prisoner and valuable bargaining chip in a city on the brink of war, he should have every reason to fear the man guarding him. But Poseidon's unexpected gentleness and stormy attraction make captivity far more complicated than either of them anticipated.

Poseidon has no time for an increasingly defiant prisoner when Olympus is preparing for war. Yet the longer he protects Icarus, the harder it becomes to believe the stories he's been told about his sworn enemy. Beneath Icarus's sharp edges, Poseidon discovers a warmth and vulnerability that awaken feelings he never expected to have.

The Vibe

Icarus is a clever, defiant captive who refuses to let imprisonment erase his sense of self. Beneath his rebellious exterior is a vulnerable man who has been misunderstood by those around him, and his growing connection with Poseidon forces him to question where his loyalties truly lie.

Poseidon is a powerful, intimidating god with a surprisingly gentle side. Tasked with protecting Icarus while Olympus teeters on the edge of destruction, he begins to see the man behind the enemy's reputation. His growing protectiveness quickly becomes impossible to separate from the desire and affection he feels for his prisoner.

With enemies-to-lovers tension, captive romance, forced proximity, protective devotion, and scorching MM chemistry, Sweet Obsession brings a modern, dark-romance spin to the myth of Poseidon and Icarus. Against the backdrop of a city at war and an enemy army at the gates, Poseidon must decide where his allegiance truly lies and whether protecting Icarus has become something much more personal.
