Fake dating • friends-to-lovers • grumpy/sunshine-ish • viral “rescue” • brooding cinnamon-roll hero • funny, sexy, heartfelt
A smart, hilarious, super-sexy rom-com where a viral video turns an awkward moment into an internet-wide ship—and a fake relationship into something dangerously real. Take a Hint, Dani Brown is all banter and heat on the surface, with tender emotional depth underneath (because it’s Talia Hibbert, of course).
The vibe
Danika Brown is laser-focused on her future: professional success, academic renown, and the occasional no-strings hookup to take the edge off. Romance—any gender, any flavor—is a distraction she’s not interested in repeating. So when Zafir Ansari, big brooding security guard and former rugby player, “rescues” her during a workplace fire drill gone wrong, Dani takes it as a sign they’re clearly destined to sleep together. Simple.
Except a video of the rescue goes viral, and suddenly the internet is obsessed with #DrRugbae. Zaf asks Dani to fake date him for the publicity—his kids’ sports charity could really use the attention, and Dani can’t exactly say no to helping children. Dani’s plan: fake it in public, seduce him in private.
The problem? Zaf is secretly a hopeless romantic with a soft heart under all that brooding, and he’s determined to crack Dani’s tough-love realism. And while Dani’s trying to keep her focus, Zaf has his own baggage—walls around his heart that are harder to scale than Dani’s thesis.
